Whitney Antrim is the obvious best choice to join the CUSD School Board. In a way, Whitney was born to the job- her grandfather was an advocate for the youth of Coronado and she and her father shared the same high school history teacher. No one has deeper roots on our island; more knowledge of how things work and don’t work here; or more extensive and valuable contacts. Service to the community is in her blood.

Whitney combines a deep love for the Coronado school system with an alum’s knowledge of its strengths, its weakness, its challenges, and its opportunities. She has close personal ties with the teachers, administrators, parents, other alums, students, and community leaders. Whitney will hit the ground running.

A lawyer and public servant, Whitney’s professional experiences will be invaluable in helping the Board build a school and community consensus in its implementation of the Equity Action Plan. What some candidates are promoting as a divisive issue will, under her guidance, be instead a chance to bring our community closer together- in support of common-sense solutions we can all agree upon.

Whitney is a delightful person- bright, creative, energetic, a great team player. She will conserve all that is greatest in our school system and help build consensus for areas that need change and improvement.
