Never before have we seen such a CUSD school board race. The amount of money that some candidates are pouring into the race is telling. Yet, CUSD finds itself in a similar position to many other public school districts across the nation.
If you have not heard the words “critical race theory” and “systemic racism,” you need to get up to speed quickly on what these political and Marxist based terminologies are, and how their ideology is now being implemented in school district after school district across the nation.
This is a battle for the hearts and minds of our children. In our town, we have some 2020 school board candidates that are endorsed by candidates for other offices who were funded by George Soros and Planned Parenthood. Why do these organizations have any interest in our local school board races? And, we see candidates new to Coronado running for school board sending out expensive glossy advertisements and producing slick videos.
Most citizens understand an excellent education is the basis for future financial success. Outside interests with a political agenda will only push CUSD further away from its core focus on providing stellar education opportunity for all students. Bringing in outside consultants to teach our children a suspect political and racial ideology will only further divide our community as it has done in other districts across the country.
The stakes have never been higher. Fortunately, we have two candidates, Stacy Keszei and Kenneth “Mike” Canada, who understand the issues and are willing to fight for our children’s educational excellence.
As a native Coronadan and CUSD K-12 grad, I believe that these candidates are the right people to guide our local school district forward toward a non-political, relentless focus on excellence in education for all our children.
I humbly ask you to get the word out and vote for Stacy Keszei and Mike Canada for Coronado school board.
