What kind of musical is this? If I may take the words right off the page of the brochure handed out at the door, I couldn’t describe it any better than that: “It’s the winner of three Tony Awards, the puns flow freely in this musical comedy that skewers politics, capitalism and musical theater all in one delightfully demented package.” You’ve simply gotta go!

As a native and resident of Coronado, I enjoy throughout the year the many productions at the Coronado Performing Arts Center, 650 D Avenue, in Coronado.

I would like share that I have attended this most recent production three times and intend to support the talented young performers by attending the remaining two performances Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1-2 at 7 p.m.

I became aware of the subtle and the many nuances woven throughout the story line. A live band provides the varied musical back drop and the energy on stage with amazing singing and dancing.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Coronado School of the Arts and the CoSA Foundation for the production of “Urinetown: The Musical” and the production staff and crew: Director Dr. Barbara Wolfe, Musical Director Leigh Scarritt, and Choreographers Tiffany Bouchard and Gina Bolles Sorenson.

I will be attending the remaining two performances and I hope to see more of our community members filling up the seats.
