Those who think that this is a treasonous sentiment need only read such gems as Dred Scott v. Sanford, 60 U.S. 393 (1856) (deciding that blacks were not legal U.S. citizens under Article III of the Constitution), and Plessy v. Ferguson, 163 U.S. 537 (1896) (deciding that racial segregation was legally permissible). As we have seen with Row v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973), it is horrifying what the government can allow be done to a someone when they are not considered fully human.
