The City of Coronado recently submitted a formal letter to the Port of San Diego expressing our objections to numerous elements within the draft Port Master Plan Update (PMPU), including a 350-room hotel at the Ferry Landing.

While the City of Coronado does not have the authority to approve or deny the PMPU, we do have a powerful voice to help shape the plan that is ultimately adopted, and so do you. Over the past three weeks, the Port of San Diego has received hundreds of emails and letters from community members expressing their opinions on the proposed plan.

The public comment period officially closed on July 31, however, our efforts to improve the Ferry Landing with enhanced open space and recreational opportunities that complement the surrounding residential area will continue until the plan is adopted. I have personally spoken with several Port Commissioners and I can assure you that they hear us.

We are most effective when we stand together, so thank you to everyone that took the time to write in and stand up for Coronado.
