From all of us at Coronado Island Film Festival (CIFF)to all of you, our Coronado neighbors and friends, there are no words to quite thank you enough or to say how grateful we are for everything you do, and have done from the start, to make this amazing film festival dream of ours come true!

We heard it over and over from visiting filmmakers, movie lovers, and first-time festival attendees, “This is the most welcoming, gracious, and friendly community we’ve ever visited – what an incredible experience this is!” To say it takes a village may sound trite, but it’s true!

Thank you, City of Coronado for believing in us, for your generous grants and your Founding Sponsorship. Thank you, Hotel del Coronado, our Presenting Sponsor and the hospitality, history, glamour and romance you bring; thank you to our local hotels, especially Loews Coronado Bay Resort and Glorietta Bay Inn, for warmly welcoming our filmmakers and guests. Thank you to the 17 Coronado restaurants who made the Kick-Off Bash spectacular and delicious, with a special shout-out to David Spatafore and Blue Bridge Hospitality for the 2021 Signature Festival Cocktail, “The Native Islander,” and Little Frenchie for the sweet treats at “The French Dispatch” screening. Thanks to Rick Chapman for keeping CIFF in good CBC beer supply since Day One. Thanks Penny Rothschild and the Emerald C Gallery for reminding us every year that you sure know how to throw a party. Thank you, Beth Skelley, at Coronado Library for being the Wonder Woman you are. Thank you Father Mike and Stephanie at Sacred Heart Parish Hall for sharing your beautiful new venue with us. Thank you Cool Fever, Tim Dougherty, and Marilyn Rees for your gorgeous music.

Thank you to the awesome CIFF board and staff, for the managers and all the red-shirted CIFF volunteers who smiled their way through and made it happen for five jam-packed days and made it look fun and easy; thank you to our generous sponsors, benefactors, donors, pass-holders and ticket-purchasers. And a special thank you to the many, many Coronado Rotarians for everything you did to make CIFF 2021 happen!

Oh, and, yes, that was indeed Charles Crehore, Coronado’s favorite personal driver, that you spotted all weekend in his impeccable Mercedes, driving Richard Dreyfuss and the beautiful Golden Age movie star Ann Blyth from place to place around town. Hooray for Hollywood! Hooray for Coronado!
