Dear Coronadans,

Since Wednesday January 6, the City of Coronado and Sharp Hospital have run a COVID Vaccination Center at the Community Center. Starting that day, the Chamber of Commerce began providing lunches for the volunteer workers.

We have received over $10,000 in contributions to provide these lunches. But our fund is running low. We would like to continue at least through the end of March

My call to action is for community members who can afford to provide financial support to give to the Chamber’s lunch fund. We coordinate the purchase of sandwiches and other easy-to-consume, individually wrapped, affordable food items, spending an average of $250 per day. We are not asking restaurants to donate food. But if you are a restaurant and want to donate, that is also appreciated.

Contributions in the amount of $250 or over will be individually recognized at the lunch they are covering.

We are happy to take contributions via check (to the Chamber of Commerce with COVID memo) or credit card (over the phone). Please remember that the Chamber is a 501 c 6 organization and donations are NOT tax deductible.

Thank you to the businesses and individuals who have already contributed. Thank you in advance for considering this way to support our community’s efforts to make a difference in the fight against COVID!
