The Coronado Cultural Arts Commission is honored to invite the entire community to attend the first “State of the Arts” and the unveiling of “Coronado CREATES: A Strategic Plan for Arts and Culture in Coronado.” The presentation is set for Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 8, 2019, in the Nautilus Room of the Coronado Community Center. A social hour will begin at 4 p.m. offering free beverages and food and the opportunity to meet the arts organizations and artists who enrich our community! Enjoyable short performances will be presented as well as works of art and descriptions of the arts activities in our city. At 5 p.m., Mayor Richard Bailey will convene a joint meeting of the City Council and the Cultural Arts Commission to celebrate our wonderful cultural community and hear about Coronado CREATES from Louise Stevens of ArtsMarket, the nationally-recognized consultant who worked with the entire community for over a year to develop this blueprint for the next 10 years. Every member of the community is cordially invited. The afternoon and early evening will provide an enjoyable and engaging look at our arts community and the hopes of all of us for an exciting future supporting the arts and developing new opportunities and venues.
