As prices are going up and a lot of people are having a hard time with a lack of disposable income, I would like to see Congress pass what could be called the National Holiday Bonus. Every December (and it could be made a permanent thing, replacing tax cut for the rich), every man, woman and child in the U.S. would receive $1000. A small tax on billionaires could pay for it. This might help to spot the economy with greater consumer spending and could possibly curb the looting problem we’ve seen recently. As a result, we could have a very merry season for all.

Unfortunately, I doubt if the Republicans would go for it with their “no such thing as a free lunch” mentality, although they would benefit as well.

Just another reason to vote Democrat, so we can pass some positive, productive, progressive proposals such as this and spread the wealth that has accumulated at the top due to a healthy market, giving a little relief to those that are struggling trying to make ends meet.
