I’ve been enjoying reading Eddie Pietrzak’s letters to the editor for many months. While reading last week’s installment, I got a huge smile on my face because Eddie told stories about Louie Chvatal, a Coronadan who passed away many years ago.

I remember Louie well. In the 1980s, Louie would slowly work his way down Orange Avenue, sitting on one bench at a time. While sitting on the benches, he would greet everyone who passed by him, with a cheerful hello. He was so genuine, so friendly, I still remember him fondly.

Louie is just one of countless Coronadans who helped make this city what it is today. I want to thank Eddie for remembering Louie in his letter to the editor.
