When popular Hollywood actor Vince Vaughn attended last week’s National Championship football game between the Clemson Tigers and the LSU Tigers, he happened to be seated near President Trump and the First Lady who were also in attendance at the Superdome.

Vaughn was caught on camera shaking hands with the President while exchanging brief pleasantries with the First couple.

Predictably, within two shakes of a lamb’s tail Vaughn was catching holy Hades on social media, and a backlash from some of his Hollywood peers. Really?

I guess the self-proclaimed “tolerant” among us are at times nothing of the kind. Why am I not surprised?

When a celebrity (or ordinary Joe, for that matter) catches grief for simply being polite with someone on the political right, America’s civil society suffers.

For shame.
