We were privileged to have an electromagnetic radiation expert in town on Tuesday, June 18. Dafna Tachover is an attorney in New York and Israel. She has a technology background from her service in the Israeli Defense Forces as a Telecommunication and Computers Officer. She is the founder of “We Are the Evidence”, an advocacy organization for the protection of the rights of people who have been injured by wireless technology radiation. She led a Supreme Court case in Israel to ban the use of Wi-Fi in schools which led to the strictest limitations in the world. And to put it in a nutshell, she knows her stuff.

In the morning, Dafna met with Mayor Richard Bailey, two council members and three Coronado residents. Because of the Brown Act, only two council members could be present in the same room at the same time. Mayor Bailey was there for the full hour, with Marvin Heinze attending from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Mike Donovan from 12 to 12:30 p.m. Bill Sandke slipped in for a short private session at 12:30 p.m.and Whitney Benzian had a prior engagement. The Council did not want to hear about the harmful effects of 4G/5G, they said they already knew this information. They wanted to know how to beat it. In the past, we have been repeatedly told by the Mayor that “their hands are tied” because if they don’t agree to installing AT&T “small cell” towers, that AT&T will sue them, win, and Coronado will have to pay the legal fees on both sides. I disagree with this argument because if Coronado bands together with many cities, especially the ones served by our Coronado City Attorney’s firm, that there is no way that AT&T could afford to sue them all. This would set a precedence that would grab the attention of the Telecom companies to follow: Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and Cricket. But the story changed this time. It wasn’t AT&T that was tying their hands, it was California governing bodies. Dafna gave the Mayor several solid arguments, I believe three or four, that could be used to stop 5G and the Mayor said he would run them past the City Attorney. Because the City Attorney is not an expert in this area, we asked to see her response in writing to see if there would be would be room for further discussion.

That evening, Dafna did a presentation on Wireless Radiation in the Winn Room of the Coronado Library at 6:30 p.m.. She gave the answers to: Are cell phones, cell towers, Wi-Fi and Smart Meters harmful; What is 5G and should we be concerned about it; Why are children more vulnerable; and What can we do to reduce our exposure and protect our families? There were approximately 50 people present which is quite respectable considering the Council Meeting at the same time was discussing the Undergrounding Project and there were several activities around town. You could have heard a pin drop as Dafna went through these topics one at a time, and eyes got bigger and bigger and bigger. Two doctors were present, one voraciously taking notes. Engineers, scientists, parents and a variety of other interested residents were there. Several people came despite their skepticism and approached me as true believers after the presentation. Like I said before, Dafna knows her stuff and shared all the military studies done over the past forty years plus other studies that backed it up.

I’m sorry if you missed it. It is information that will definitely be affecting your lives over the next several years if this 5G rollout continues and the health of the babies, children, and adults of Coronado is not considered. We are hoping to get Dafna Tachover back to Coronado for another presentation but her schedule is packed going up and down California and other states. We will have to wait and see. We will keep you posted weekly on a variety of 5G issues using the Coronado Eagle. If you are on Facebook, go to Stop 5G Coronado Now and know immediately what is going on and join in the discussions.
