We need a fresh approach. Fortunately, there are good people who have stepped up to serve our city: people willing to return to a purely academic focus, people who have not been connected to the local status quo and are free to see a vision that does not include critical race theory and social agendas.

Schools exist to prepare children for their future with academic excellence as the goal, and that means we must use the instructional minutes in the day wisely. There is no time to waste. Parents and grandparents are our allies in this goal; their input needs to be welcomed.

We believe these four candidates will lead to the policies needed to secure the future our children deserve.

For the two-year seat: Gerri Machin

For the four-year seats: Scot Youngblood, Lisa Meglioli, and Mark Scheurer.

Moderate

Gerri Machen is associated with the cultish political "church" Awaken of San Diego that spews hate against public schools, spreads endless conspiracy theories, sent its alleged pastors to the Jan. 6 insurrection, denies science and calls gay people demons.
