If I had issues with Mr Kelly’s view of Attorney General Barr’s short summary of Mr. Mueller’s report, I can applaud Kelly’s warmhearted recollection of the Brooklyn Dodgers. As I kid born in Brooklyn I was taken to Ebbets Field for Wednesday afternoon games by Mom. (That was before night games.) Mom didn’t watch the game, she spoke with her friends. I recall a small band that drew me away from the game.

My Aunt Suzie was a real fan. I went to a couple of World Series games with her. From our Bleacher seats in Yankee Stadium our field-glasses gave us a great view of home-plate…until Yogi hit a grand-slam. At that point Susie decreed “no field glasses.”

Suzie took me and some other kids to several regular season games. If the Dodgers were behind we “prayed” for a Dodger comeback. If they failed to recover we left in mourning.

I must confess to shedding a few tears when the Dodges lost to the Giants in a three game pay-off. Ralph Branca lost the last game.
