The Mothers’ Day Historic Homes Tour is always a treat, but this year it was even a touch more special. The seven houses, the newest 1920 and the rest all 1910 - 1913, were some that Coronado folks like me have known all our lives but never been inside. Each one is so interesting and so lovingly cared for.

My favorite was 1110 Isabella, a 1912 Spanish Eclectic, because I was amazed and delighted to see that the wide concrete walkway up to the front door is in exactly the same scored design as the original Village public sidewalks. I am on a crusade to protect and restore those sidewalks.

As usual we owe a debt of gratitude to the Coronado Historical Association, their organizers and volunteers, and the owners who opened their homes, for a beautifully managed event.
