I watched the last CUSD Board meeting online and I, too, was a bit confused about the placement of menstrual products in any boy’s/men’s restroom.

I understand the state legislature thinks there is a need based on the emergence of a growing transgender population. I also understand why some members of our community showed up to question this seemingly absurd new law… but they were shooting at the wrong target. Our school board did not enact this new law; the elected officials in Sacramento did and they are the only ones who can change it.

Unless the speakers’ purpose was to convince the members of the school board to break the law (not a great lesson for children), they were wasting time in Coronado when they should have been leading a caravan to Sacramento.

Let’s show the kids here how government works and how to lobby and change laws instead of teaching them it’s ok to ignore laws you don’t think make sense. Just imagine the chaos that would ensue if we could label any law we don’t agree with as unjust and then simply ignore it.

Do you mean like Federal immigration law? Your party has no problem ignoring that law. How about emergency orders during a pandemic? Gavin and Nancy had no problem ignoring those. Here's an idea. Instead of writing weekly letters defending the stupid ideas of your party, how about writing a weekly letter to your party leaders asking them to stop ignoring laws and enacting even stupider ones. That would be a real service to this community.

I don't know what is more amusing the fact jrainey82 chastises another for writing regularly to the opinion page or that he assumes he is empowered to hand out letter writing advice to others.
