Nate Hoffmann, CHS 2012, has news for his Coronado Golf Club biddies: A documented hole in one, July 25, 2020, in Honolulu on the Ft. Shafter course.

That morning there chanced to be some rare down time at the huge Hensel Phelps construction project where he is a very busy field engineer. So, a few free hours for a walk-on with three strangers, who fortunately were witnesses to the 140 yard, par three, hit with an 8-iron, 3/4 swing.

The details are Greek to us tennis folks, but it’s gotta be very OK because the Honolulu Advertiser sports page featured the happening. And it surely is a lot of fun for this grandmother-in-law to report.

You never know what good stuff a day can bring, even in the midst of a colossal epidemic. Words to live by.
