Our schools have come under attack in recent years as never before by decision makers deliberately undermining the core mission of academic excellence while often trampling on historical family values in the process. Incredibly, we have seen board members here and elsewhere bristle and/or flatly revolt at the notion of welcoming parent input on the situation.

We can get our own ship headed in the right direction this November as 4 of 5 school board seats are in play. I am writing to address only the 2-year seat and I ask you to join me in supporting Gerri Machin for the job. Take a look at machin2022.com to get acquainted.

Her involvement at the meetings over the past 18 months with the CUSD has been steadfast. I’ve spoken with her sufficiently to know Gerri is genuine and that she will absolutely prioritize education over administration. Gerri wants a return to local control where parents and grandparents will be heard - and she means it. I wholeheartedly support Gerri Machin for the 2-year CUSD board seat.
