Parents, first, we’d like to thank you for your continued support of the Islander Sports Foundation and Middle School Sports, and your patience as we worked diligently on behalf of our student athletes to find a solution for what has been a very brief Spring Sports Season.
Your patience was very much appreciated as we navigated this tumultuous time, and worked to find the best solution possible. We are greatly disappointed to have to cancel our spring season, and wish that this season could have occurred fully as scheduled. Having just started and with two short weeks of an 8-week season under our belt, it is hard to believe that we must officially discontinue the rest of the season.
In light of the cancelled season, the ISF Board has decided to issue refunds in the amount of $150 to all paid and registered spring athletes, and you will receive those refunds in the form of a check to the address on record in your athletic clearance account. The Board arrived at this refund amount after balancing the notable administrative, coaching and uniform costs incurred for the shortened season with the limited time that players have had to participate.
Some sports had not yet received their CMS shirts prior to school being closed. I will reach out to those teams individually to coordinate the sizing and drop off/pick up locations.
We look forward to a great Fall season. Hopefully the current public health situation will be behind us and we can move forward with Middle School athletics and build upon a great new year of growth and success through sport!
