Emerald Keepers was proud to host a screening of “The Story of Plastics.” Some 500 people viewed the newly released documentary that confronts the man-made crisis of plastic pollution and the worldwide effect it has on the health of our planet and the people who inhabit it. Special thanks to panelists: Mike Donovan, Council Member, City of Coronado; Nicole Belong, Coronado High School AP Biology Teacher, Coronado Unified School District; and Alex Ferron, Chair, San Diego Surfrider Foundation. Expertly moderated by Emerald Keeper Christina Slentz, Ph.D. candidate, International Studies, Old Dominion University, the hour-long panel shared reflections about this thought-provoking film and the role we all play in solving this global crisis.
