The City of Coronado strongly opposes the 1,000+ new housing units proposed to be allocated to our community by SANDAG and the State of California.

While we recognize the importance of providing additional housing for the region’s growing population, we have already done more than our fair share to meet the region’s housing needs. Coronado is one of the most densely populated cities in the county and we have no additional room to develop.

Unfortunately, the State of California and SANDAG is proposing a one-size-fits-all methodology that would force us to increase our housing supply by over 1,000 new units within eight years.

We need your help to pushback on this flawed approach.

Please visit www.savecoronado.com to sign a petition and make your voice heard. The public comment period is open until Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. You can also email SANDAG directly at seth.litchney@sandag.org to share your opinion.

With your help, I am optimistic we can change the allocation methodology and help preserve Coronado’s future.
