Veterans Day is the day that Americans honor the men and women who have fought in all wars in America. Coronado has many heroes who have fought in the country’s wars. Having lived in Coronado for many years, I have noticed many women who are now combining their roles as mothers with a career in the Navy. They are doing a great job.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars also makes a contribution to the military servicemen and servicewomen. They raise funds making delicious food and beverages for veterans and making a place they can enjoy themselves on the times they are not working, or involved, on other activities.

The front of the VFW on Orange Avenue has a place to honor the POWS from all wars, and their military families. Thank you, Coronado, for all the heroes who have served our country.
