John Price passed away at home in San Diego Dec. 30, 2018, from complications in his battle against skin cancer.

John was born April 29, 1953, at North Island Naval Air Station, to Peggy and Arthur Price. His first 20 months were spent in Coronado. He traveled the country with his Navy family for many years and dreamed of returning to live in the town of his birth. This dream was realized in 1964 when the family returned and he attended Crown Elementary, Coronado Junior High, culminating in graduating from Coronado High School. He was a boy scout in Troop 800 where he achieved Life Rank.

John was an accomplished surfer and skier and surf board shaper. There are several men, who remember as boys, that John made their first surf board.

John began his Mobile Auto Repair in Coronado and for many years attended to the needs of Coronado residents coming to their assistance at their homes. In 2009 John retired to care, full time, for his handicapped son, Aaron.

John’s father, RADM Arthur W. Price, Jr. died in 2007. John leaves behind his children Aaron of San Diego, Megan (James) of Australia; his mother, Peggy of Coronado; siblings Carolyn (Bernie) of Coronado, Mary (Michael) of Westminster, California, Arthur (Betsy) of San Diego, Robert (Harriet) of Encinitas, James of San Diego; nieces and nephews Martha (Anthony), Sara, Jesse, Michael and William. He also leaves behind is former wife and friend, Loretta Hodge of San Diego.
