Jennie Cabral Ontiveros Galvan

Coronado resident, Jennie Cabral Ontiveros Galvan, passed away on April 26, 2021 at the age 92. She passed peacefully with her husband Joseph, and her family at her side.

Jennie was born in Bryn Mawr, California. on Jan. 27, 1929, and was raised in Redlands, California. Jennie wed Joseph “Joe” Nicholas Galvan on Oct. 10, 1949. In 1967 they relocated their young family from San Bernardino to Coronado where she and her husband raised six children.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jose and Angela Ontiveros; siblings Frank ‘Morgan’, Rita, Ted ‘Loly’, Mike, Lily, Ernie, Fannie; and her son Steven. Jennie is survived by husband Joe; children Jo Anne (Darrin), Sandra (Manny), and Sylvia (Dwain), Joe ‘Gary’ (Julie) and James; grandchildren Denise (Kevin), Roberto (Stephanie), Nick (Ana), Marty, Mark, Tara, Corbin, Mirabella, and Isabelle; great-grandchildren Sofia, Cora, Zachariah, Lupe, Jose, Abel, Bobby, Bowen, Reina, Kairi, Selah, Aiden, Eli, Evelyn, and Azalia; and her sister Beatrice Ramirez.

A funeral mass honoring Jennie will be held on Friday, June 25, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 655 C Avenue. All who know the Galvan family are invited to attend.
