Florence Zahn, née Fix, was the beloved wife of Irwin and dear mother of Carol (Tom) Vince, Joni Rose Diskint and Dorothy Frankel. Florence was the loving grandmother of James (Corrine), Nathaniel and Jeremy Diskint, and great-grandmother of Talia Diskint. Florence passed away on June 11.
Florence was born in New York City on April 23, 1925. Florence was an avid reader, knitter, and traveler. She graduated NYU in New York City, was a dental hygienist and dental office manager in New York City before going on to teach dental assisting at Clara Barton High School.
Florence moved to Coronado in 1982, living in the Coronado Shores complex. Upon retirement, she loved to play bridge and gather with friends for lunch or dinner. She was a generous and gracious person, who loved to help everybody.
There will be a celebration of Florence’s life at the Riverside Memorial Chapel in New York City before being buried in Queens, New York at the Beth David Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a favorite charity of Florence’s: The San Diego Zoo, Aruna Partnership (arunapartnership.org) and/or Planned Parenthood. Thank you.
