Corinne Ann Mitchell passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019 in Coronado, succumbing to ovarian cancer complications.

Corinne was born Feb. 25, 1958 in Poughkeepsie, New York, the daughter of deceased parents William J. Mitchell and Irene E. (Campion) Mitchell. Also deceased are sisters Diane Gay Bracone and Judith Ann Mohnach.

Surviving her are Robert “Bob” Miegl, her loving husband of 35 years; two brothers William J Mitchell of San Diego and Stephen M Mitchell of Newark, New York, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Corinne was a 1976 graduate of Spackinkill High School’s first graduating class in Poughkeepsie and received a BA degree in biology From Mary Mount College in 1980. She also attended Cornell Medical School in New York City in 1980-82. Most recently she attained Cat Behaviorist certification.

Corinne spent her early career opening, managing and owning restaurants. Later serving as an independent web design contractor and office management consultant.

Her last 11 years have been devoted to her passion involving animal welfare and rescue. She volunteered with Paws of Coronado finding homes for abandoned cats as well as with Best Friends in Kanab, Utah, where Corinne and Bob loved to travel to together.

There has already been a private service for immediate family.
