NCAA Women’s Water Polo Championship ...

Twin sisters Cassidy and Mackenzie Wiley (CHS ’15) celebrate with the NCAA Women’s Water Polo Championship trophy over the weekend, as the Stanford Cardinal defeated USC 9-8 in the Finals. The Wileys are both seniors at Stanford and played on the Cardinal Water Polo Team for four years.

Playing major roles for the Stanford University Women’s Water Polo Team this season were twin sisters and CHS (’15) Alumnae Mackenzie Wiley and Cassidy Wiley. The pair helped lead the Cardinal to a 9-8 victory over USC in the Finals, played at Stanford May 12. Both are seniors this year, with Mackenzie majoring in International Relations and Cassidy working toward completing her degree in Human Biology.

Including the 2010 season, the last nine consecutive NCAA Water Polo titles have been won by either Stanford University (five times) or the University of Southern California (four times). To make it more interesting, Stanford posted a record of 23-2 this season, with their two losses coming to USC. On the flip side of the coin, USC was 28-2 and their lone defeats came from Stanford.
