The new developmental academy wave caused the Islander Boys Soccer Team to lose one player and receive two in return for the 2018-19 season. Last year talented brothers senior Jorge Martinez and junior Juan Martinez were important players for the Islanders. With Jorge graduating, Juan opted to go the developmental academy route and he will play for Albion this year. We’ll get to the additions later on.

Head Coach Aaron Brooks returns four seniors who played in the program last year, including center back Calvin Cox, strikers Brandon Elassaad and Mauricio Luna, and midfielder Nic Woods. Also on the squad is senior Aidan Morson, who will be playing his first season on the varsity. Returning juniors include fullback Fernando Jimenez, midfielder Connor Irvine, and goalie Jack Irvine. Brooks said, “Jack is one of three keepers in the program along with junior Esteban Toscano and sophomore Enrique Leon. We also have an impact sophomore named Nathan Sanchez, who plays midfield and striker for us.”

As promised, the two developmental academy players come to the Islander program with the added twists of being brothers and having played for Eastlake in the past. They are senior Nathan Mutty and sophomore Colton Mutty. Brooks said of the pair, “Nathan will play center midfield and he plays at a high level. He does a lot of the little things right and will be a great asset. His brother Colton plays holding center mid. I’m always curious to see who leaves and who comes back each year. Nathan is a phenomenal player and Colton reminds me of (Islander alumnus) Blake Moser. Colton is quiet, a hard worker and there’s a lot of upside for him.”

As for the team as a whole, Brooks said, “We are competing for positions on a daily basis and this is a competitive group. It’s very different from previous years and I’m excited about that. We will be in Division I this year and we will play in the Western League along with Cathedral Catholic, Point Loma, St. Augustine and Scripps Ranch. The league favorite is probably Cathedral because they’re the only program that hasn’t lost half their team to graduation.”

Islander played really nicely last night. Actually, the match of out of the reach by the Islander but the then the he showed the deneme bonusu veren siteler that he has and make the opponent to taste the defeat. I think I have not seen such thrilling match in my life like the match that I’ve seen yesterday.
