The final tally for the Islander Girls Tennis Team’s participation in the CIF Individual Tennis Playoffs included four doubles teams and two singles players. According to Head Coach Rob Moore, junior Sinaia Haskal was added to the singles side of the event. “She totally deserved it,” Moore said. “Sinaia joins Elsa Ostermarker in our CIF singles lineup.”

Both Haskal and Ostermarker had matches Monday afternoon, with Haskal playing Grace Chen from Torrey Pines and Ostermarker playing Teylor Kunin-Ur from Point Loma.

Three of the four Islander doubles teams were seeded into the second round and their first matches will be played Wednesday afternoon. They include Alejandra Gonzalez/Marla Steel, Ellie Johnson/Ana De La Lama and Olivia Strong/Lily Vu. The doubles team of Samantha Russell/Kate Perley was scheduled to play Tuesday afternoon. In doubles, the Second Round and the Round of 16 matches will all be played at the Morley Field Courts Wednesday afternoon.
