Nado GU10 ...

Nado’s recreational GU10 team participated in the La Jolla All Star Tournament on December 3-4. The team finished unbeaten allowing only two goals through four games. They defeated the Cardiff Sockers (6-1), Solana Beach (3-0), Pacific Beach (4-0), and finally San Diego Force (5-1).

Eleanor Dunbar was one of the MVP’s for the entire tournament acting as a battle field general leading her team to victory. She had substantial help running the offense from “Playmaker” Livy Pate and “The Flash” Emerson Brown who both scored crucial goals throughout the tournament. When these three offensive juggernauts needed breaks, the momentum continued with Sailor MacCartee, Ava Miller, Summer Arnold, and Ally Rodenbarger keeping the attack moving forward.

However, the team would not have been successful without the consistent and dominant “Great Wall of Defense.” Abby Buggy, Gretel Rinehart, and Elia Dietz were simply too good at clearing the ball back to their offense. The other MVP for the team was Adeline Crain, the best goal keeper in the tournament. At times she looked as if she had eight arms stopping almost all shots while enjoying two complete shutouts in the tournament. The championship game was a total team effort but Jensen Cunningham’s two goals and Lucy Barbera’s goal sealed the victory.

Thank you to all the parents for such great support.
