Is your inner artist longing for expression? If so, the John D. Spreckels Center has the program for you!

If you’ve got a knack for, or always wanted to learn how to paint with watercolors, or sketch, you’ll want to join the Watercolor Painting class on Fridays, Nov. 1-22, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. ($80 for residents, $100 for nonresidents), and the Sketching class on Wednesdays, Nov. 6-20, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. ($60 for residents, $75 for nonresidents). In both classes you’ll learn how to use geometric shapes, volume and lighting to create your masterpiece. Grab your pencils and brushes and get started!

Is writing your preferred medium? Turn your greatest memories and life experiences into a short story or poem in the Everybody Has a Story writing class on Wednesdays, Nov. 6 – Dec. 18, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. ($50 for residents, $62 for nonresidents). Whether you are a seasoned writer, or a beginner with a desire to get your words and ideas on the page, this class is for you.

Do you love flowers? In the hands-on Floral Design class on Monday, Nov. 25, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. ($35 for residents, $45 for nonresidents, plus a $25 materials fee) you’ll make a Thanksgiving centerpiece in autumn tones featuring sunflowers, mums, roses, and accenting greenery. This is not your basic ‘flowers in a vase’ class, so be prepared to take your artistry to a new level.

To register or to receive additional information, visit the John D. Spreckels Center and Bowling Green at 1019 Seventh Street, call 619-522-7343, or visit online at www.coronado.ca.us/spreckels.
