As things are thankfully, slowly getting back to normal Hayley Beard and her team at Edward Jones are sponsors of the annual Alzheimer’s Walk again this year. The 2021 event will be virtual and in-person.

Beard is planning to walk in-person at Liberty Station and would like to invite the community to walk with her and her team and strive towards ending Alzheimer’s disease.

Alzheimer’s disease impacts more than 300,000 Edward Jones clients, double what was estimated just a couple years ago. It’s a devastating disease with no known cure. More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s today. And it’s one of the most expensive diseases, with a lifetime cost of care of more than$350,000.

Alzheimer’s hits us right where we live: destroying the wealth and well-being of Edward Jones clients, our colleagues and our communities. But they are hitting back hard.

About a year ago, Edward Jones doubled down on their commitment to the Alzheimer’s Association - pledging $25 million over five years on top of the $25 million they’d already raised in the first five years of our strategic alliance. Even more exciting? $6 million of that will fund groundbreaking research that could lead to new treatments and, we hope, a cure.

The recent news that the FDA approved a new drug, the first ever to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s, offers hope to those with Alzheimer’s. This treatment is groundbreaking, but it is only one step in the fight to find a cure.

Now is the time to lace up your walking shoes and take even more steps.

This year, join the Hayley Beard team! This event is open to adults and kids of all ages. The Alzheimer’s Walk will be on Saturday, Oct. 9 and will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. It will be held at Liberty Station, 2455 Cushing Road, San Diego.

Team ID is 683839; Team Coronado to END Alzheimer’s Disease. Contact Beard for more information at 619-435-7712.
