The VFW Auxiliary Post 2422 is pleased to report on the success of our Walk to End Alzheimer’s which was held on Saturday, Oct. 3. Through the generous donations of many Coronado residents, family members and friends from around the County, we were able to raise $1,852 toward our goal of $2000 for this very worthy cause. This was our first Community Outreach Program, and we are very thankful for your assistance in making it so successful. If you would like to support our Team and this very worthy organization, you can do so until the end of the year. Please go to act.alz.org to donate. Our Team name is VFW Auxiliary Post 2422.
In addition, while the Team was walking through the town, we received donations totaling $102 towards our Veterans Relief Fund. As you may recall, we requested your support due to our lack of opportunities due to the Covid-19 restrictions to raise money to support the many Veterans Organizations that provide assistance to our Veterans and their families.
We recently received a request from the VA Hospital Volunteer Service Staff regarding Non-Monetary needs of the VA Women Patients. They are currently running low on the following items: small/medium- underwear; all sizes sweatpants/yoga pants; small/medium shirts/T-shirts; and small/medium sport bras. If you would like to donate any of these items, please email email@example.com and we will arrange to have someone pick them up so they can be delivered to the VA Hospital directly.
In the absence of any income producing opportunities this year, we are respectfully requesting donations directly from the VFW and Auxiliary members, as well as the Coronado Community that may be willing to support us. Any donation, large or small is greatly appreciated. You can mail your checks payable to VFW Auxiliary Post 2422, and mail them directly to VFW Auxiliary Post 2422. The address is 557 Orange Avenue, Coronado CA 92118. Thank you for your support!
