50th Wedding Anniversary: Jean And Bill Seager

Jean and Bill Seager celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 7. They met at a high school football game in September 1965 and were married four years later.

They moved to Coronado in 1975 where Bill took a teaching job at the high school. He has also taught at Silver Strand Elementary School, Coronado Middle School, Palm Academy, was a summer school principal, and served on the Coronado Unified School Board and the Island Charter Schools Board. For more than 20 years he has done the statistics for the high school baseball team.

Jean worked as a city planner both for the city of San Diego and in the private sector. She currently is a writer working on her third novel and several plays.

Bill and Jean play duplicate bridge and have attained the rank of Ruby Life Master. They have two children: Erica (Chris) Asch of Hallowell, Maine and Ben (Megan) Seager of Aliso Viejo, California, and six grandchildren.
