On Tuesday, June 18, at 6 p.m., the City of Coronado’s Armchair Travel will feature world adventurer Matt Allison. In his quest to find the world’s most amazing places, Allison has ventured to 170 countries and visited every continent - living with remote tribes and exploring caves, jungles, mountains and deserts. Join us as he takes us on his recent, extraordinary journey to both Myanmar and Afghanistan. This past April, Allison was one of the first tourists ever to obtain a permit to visit the jungles of the Chindwin River area of northwestern Myanmar. He then traveled into Afghanistan, where he will show us the city and people of Kabul, and the mountains and villages of the Bamiyan Province, including the Buddhist temple caves carved into the mountainsides.

June’s Armchair Travel event will be held in the John D. Spreckels Center, located at 1019 Seventh Street. Light refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the speaker’s presentation at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for residents, $6 for nonresidents.

Skip the line and pre-register. To register call us at 619-522-7343, visit www.coronado.ca.us/spreckels, or come by the Spreckels Center.
