On Wednesday, July 10, at 2:30 p.m., the City of Coronado’s John D. Spreckels Center will be streaming a lecture on, “Ethics and Data Science, Technology, and Medicine” in partnership with UC San Diego’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Advances in science and technology strongly influence our lives today. What if a temporary sensor-driven “tattoo” could gather comprehensive data on your health status? Such data could be used to improve prediction, diagnosis, and prevention of disease, thereby revolutionizing health care as we know it. This lecture will explore both the promise and the ethical challenges faced by this scenario.

This informative lecture will feature Todd P. Coleman, a Professor of Bioengineering at UCSD, where he directs the Neural Interaction Laboratory.

To sign up or receive additional information, come on in to the Spreckels Center located at 1019 Seventh Street, call us at 619-522-7343, or visit us online at www.coronado.ca.us/spreckels.
