The art world has gone online since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. With museums closed for now, institutions have launched virtual tours and live streams for viewers to enjoy while waiting for the doors to reopen to the public.
The Getty Museum challenged the internet to browse its online collection and re-create works of art at home, and Coronado artists have met the challenge, posting on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Coronado High School Yearbook Advisor and Graphics Art Teacher Anna Woerman has set the bar high for #nadoartchallenge with recreations of artwork by Renoir, Hopper, Warhol and di Vinci to name a few. Joining the fun has been CoSA Fine Art Instructor Karrie Jackson with her latest post recreating Kehunde Wiley’s portrait of President Barack Obama. Not to be denied, Silver Strand Elementary School Principal Jenny Moore channeled her inner artist and created a Picasso.
Join the fun ... the challenge is open to all and requires inspiration, creativity and things laying around the house.
