This past weekend, local surfers from the Blue Wave Surf School teamed up with the Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation and Veteran’s Village of San Diego to provide ocean therapy for area veterans suffering from PTSD and addiction.

Jimmy Miller was an inspiration to the South Bay surfing community, who, in 2004, suffering from severe mental illness, tragically took his own life. Wanting to ensure that his memory and love of the ocean were not forgotten, the Jimmy Miller Foundation was born, and struggling veterans have learned to heal and love again by experiencing the power and peace of the ocean. By partnering with Veterans Village of San Diego, the foundation was able to expand into the areas of therapy which address PTSD and addiction, allowing the whole body, mind and soul to heal.
