Girl Scouts And Honor Flight ...

Coronado Girl Scouts were there to present bouquets and boutonnieres to the 82 men and one woman veteran at the arrival of the most recent Honor Flight. Honor Flight San Diego is a non-profit team of volunteers dedicated to escorting San Diego County Veterans to Washington, DC to visit and reflect at the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice. On their arrival back to San Diego, a welcoming crew of hundreds greets the veterans with music, military escorts, gifts and cheers…a welcome many of them did not receive on their arrivals home. Pictured with the Girl Scouts is Evelyn, a 101 year old veteran who made the trip to Washington, DC recently with the group. Are you looking for a way for your girl, age 5-18 to participate in meaningful experiences such as this while building courage, confidence and character? Contact Coronado Girl Scouts at Coronadogirlscouts@yahoo.com or visit sdgirlscouts.org to join or contact Melissa Bennett at 619-564-9162.
