The CSF Board of Directors met on May 26, 2020 and elected seven new Directors to the Board of CSF. The newly elected Directors include Kathy Di Matteo, Katie Litrenta Hart, Katy Bennett Little, Condra Mullins, Mina Rassvetaieff, Roelof Roos, and Dan Shoemaker.
Each of them has been elected to serve a first two-year term, and all are eligible to serve for six consecutive years. The important role a Director on the CSF Board plays is similar to the mission of CUSD – to “Connect, Champion, and Challenge” our community in support of Coronado public schools. The Board also holds a fiduciary responsibility to oversee and manage both the current use and endowed funds that are donated to CSF. With an endowment valued at more than $6,900,000, its annual return to Coronado public schools exceeds $325,000. This year, the CSF Board voted to give $760,000, inclusive of the endowment return, to support the STEM and Arts Pathways programs flourishing on all four campuses in our district. That figure does not include the programatic and scholarship support that is provided to the district throughout the year.
In addition to these seven newly elected Directors, Ameila Hawley was selected to serve as the CSF Student Representative to the Board. Amelia has attended Coronado public schools since kindergarten and enters her senior year at Coronado High School (CHS) this fall. She is an honor student excelling in all of the AP courses she has taken during her tenure at CHS, and has played on both the Girls Varsity Soccer and Girls JV and Varsity Softball teams all three years.
Three Directors’ terms on the Board will expire at the end of June, and the CSF Board deeply appreciates the leadership, support, and dedication that has been shown by Board Chair Renee Cavanaugh, as well as Directors Tammy Farrier, and Jamie Tuckey.
