The Coronado Roundtable will welcome Coronado Unified School District Superintendent Karl Mueller as their guest speaker on Friday, March 26, at 10 a.m. The topic will be “Public Education in a Pandemic.”
Mueller was raised in San Diego County and has been an educator in California since 1997 as a teacher, director of a Charter School, and as an administrator for comprehensive public high school students. Mueller graduated from Sonoma State University with a B.A. in History and earned his Masters Degree in Education from Point Loma Nazarene. Mueller is married to his wife, Lia, and enjoys exploring the world with his two sons, William (15) and Finnegan (13).
Mueller proudly served the staff and students of Coronado High School (CHS) as principal and ROP/CTE director from 2005-2013. He developed CTE Pathway courses, matriculated courses with local community colleges, and forged a ‘guaranteed admission’ compact with San Diego State University’s Engineering Department.
Mueller began serving as principal at Canyon Crest Academy (CCA) in the San Dieguito Union High School District in 2013. During his tenure at CCA, Mueller supported a growing enrollment (from 1750 to 2500 students).
Mueller returned to CUSD in 2016 and is currently serving his fifth year in the role of Superintendent.
