Additional cancellations announced for 2020
With the uncertainty of access to the theatre, as well as navigating social distancing with patrons and creative teams, it has become necessary to announce these additional changes to the current season of the Coronado Playhouse (CPH).
The following 2020 shows are cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak regulations: “Moon Over Buffalo”; “Notes From My Shelf: The Songs of Ian Brandon”; “James Bond: The Musical”; “Closer Than Ever”; and “Clue.”
A huge thank you to the production teams for bringing your talent and creativity to Coronado Playhouse. A special thank you to the directors who pitched these shows: Samuel Young, Ian Brandon, Desha Crownover, Danny Campbell and Tom Steward. CPH is hopeful that the teams behind these shows will be back to produce on our stage in the future.
They are in negotiations to bring some of these shows back for 2021. Be on the lookout for their announcement on the 2021 season later this year.
There will be an annual meeting for the Coronado Playhouse members online this year on Sunday, Aug. 30 at 5:30 p.m. If you did not receive your letter or if you want to become a member in time for the meeting, please contact the box office at email@example.com.
There is some good news to share. “Mamma Mia!” won big at the Aubrey Awards on Sunday, Aug. 9. The show won Best Musical, Best Lead Actress, Best Supporting Lead Actresses (tie), and Best Lighting!
Congratulations to Katy Skyrud, Chris Powell, Chrissy Burns, Dawn Marie Zuniga-Williams, Heather Deerfield, Josh Olmstead and Anthony Zelig on their wins. This production was a joy for everyone involved.
The box office is working diligently and remotely to contact all of members affected by changes to their programming. They are pleased to offer these options: receive a refund; donate your ticket back to CPH. You will receive a donation letter to use for your taxes; transfer your tickets to another production; receive a gift certificate to be used for any 2021 show. Gift certificates will be mailed and can be transferred as desired.
If you would like to use your ticket as a donation to CPH, as a 501(c)(3) organization, you will receive a tax-deduction letter for your donation. The donation of your ticket price would be greatly appreciated. For questions call the Box Office at 619-435-4856. Or contact CPH at firstname.lastname@example.org.
