Coronado MOAA & Navy League To Host August 19th Dinner Meeting

Congressman Scott Peter Congressman, who represents California District 52 will be the guest speaker at the Aug. 19, Silver Strand Chapter of Military Officers of America Association (MOAA) and Coronado Navy League dinner meeting, at 6 p.m., at the Coronado Yacht Club, 1631 Strand Way.

Before being elected to Congress, Representative Peters served as chair of the San Diego Unified Port District and served two terms on the San Diego City Council. Prior to entering public service, Congressman Peters had a 16-year legal career in private practice, specializing in environmental law. He was Deputy County Counsel for the County of San Diego and established a small private law firm. He has served as a member of the boards of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation, CleanTECH San Diego, the UCSD Chancellor’s Community Advisory Board, and as Chair of the Climate Initiative at The San Diego Foundation. Congressman Peters earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University, worked as an economist for the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and attended New York University School of Law. He and his wife Lynn live in La Jolla and have a grown daughter and son.

Reservations for the dinner and event are required. Non-members are welcome. The cost is $33 per reservation, if paid in advance by check and mailed to Silver Strand Chapter MOAA, P.O. Box 180043, Coronado, CA 92178-0043, to be received not later than Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019.

The cost of reservations paid at the door is $35. For reservations to be paid at the door, please email your name and number of reservations desired to , or to, subject line “August 2019 Dinner Meeting Reservation.” Or call 619-435.6862. Phone and email reservations must be received by Aug. 14.
