Chef Cyndi Burgunder is a true role model for reinvention in retirement. As a successful Navy pilot, she achieved the rank of captain before retiring and stepping into civilian service, where she spent another 17 years in the Department of Navy. After her second retirement, she followed her passion for cooking and graduated from the International Culinary School in San Diego.

These days, she’s teaching folks in Coronado how to prepare simple, delicious food in her monthly hands-on Cooking with Cyndi class at the John D. Spreckels Center. On Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

The cost of the class is just $49 for Coronado residents, and $60 for nonresidents. Reserve your spot today as these classes only take the first eight who register.

To sign up or receive additional information, visit the John D. Spreckels Center and Bowling Green at 1019 Seventh Street, call 619-522-7343 or visit www.coronado.ca.us/spreckels.
