The Concerts in the Park Board has extended an open invitation to all service and youth organizations in Coronado to set up their tents around Spreckels Park during the Sept. 12 concert.
Coronado Promenade Concerts (CPC) is offering the opportunity to the local groups to hold an information and membership drive, and for the community to see the different organizations all in one place.
Because the CPC Board has underwritten this year’s entire concert season as a gift to the community, there are no sponsors, and therefore no restrictions on the display of advertising materials during the concerts.
From scouts to sports, to the many local service club chapters, everyone is welcome to set up tents, tables, banners, and membership information along the perimeter of the park. No RSVP is required and space is first come first served. The Sept. 12 concert begins at 5 p.m., set up begins at 3:30 p.m.
Concerts in the Park is a 51 year tradition with concerts held every Sunday from Memorial Day Weekend thru Labor Day Weekend. This year the city council approved a one week extension for the concerts so the Coronado High School class of 1971 could hold their 50th reunion. Additionally the Rotary Club of Coronado is hosting their district convention that weekend. The Sept. 12 concert will be the last concert of the season.
