After a year-long search Christ Church is pleased to announce the arrival of their new rector, The Rev. Regan Schutz. Rev. Schutz hails from Hillsboro, Oregon but comes to us from Sewanee, Tennessee where for the past several years she has served as Priest in Charge of a parish in Shelbyville, Tennessee; and, in addition, last year served as Adjunct Chaplain at the local Episcopal boarding and day school where she also taught an academic course.

“My call to ministry is a deep desire that all of God’s children learn how to be transformed by Christ’s love in times of both chaos and joy” said Rev. Schutz. “I am particularly interested in how we as Christians maintain our integrity as a community following Jesus while growing the reach of Christ’s love through courageous hospitality. Christ Church’s dictum of ‘Bridging Love and Service’ speaks to me deeply—I am so excited to come alongside you to serve in your thriving ministries!”

We look forward to the Schutz family’s arrival in Coronado mid-November. Rev. Schutz will be accompanied by her two daughters, two cats, and one “incredible” husband. She will serve as the 18th rector at Christ Church since its inception in 1887. Her first Sunday at Christ Church will be Nov. 22 where there will be a limited, in-person, outdoor worship service at 10 a.m. as well as an online service, also at 10 a.m. on the Christ Church Coronado YouTube channel. We are anxious to welcome her aboard and look forward to her leadership in years to come. We hope you become acquainted with our Christ Church community - the Episcopal Church Welcomes You. Christ Church is located on the corner of Ninth Street and C Avenue.
