Christ Church Day School of Coronado fifth graders donated funds to provide clean water through a well to people in a small town in South Sudan. Located in the village of Hai Jebel-kher and Bright Minds S.S. in Baggari, Wau, South Sudan, people living there now have clean water with a new well our students provided! There is a plaque located in their village honoring the work that was done by our students. The Christ Church Day School community is excited for everyone involved.

“Christ Church Day School (CCDS) values the lives of God›s children all over this earth and wants to uplift the quality of life for people near and far. I am excited to see our students take CCDS’s mission and share it in far away places,” said Nancy Funk, Head of School. “CCDS students know how a well can change the lives in this village, and we are beyond proud of the dedication, generosity, and altruism our students showed as they worked so hard and remained committed to their mission to fund a well.”

CCDS students learned about the importance of water through the book “A Long Walk to Water.” After reading this novel, the students felt compelled to do something.

CCDS thanks their newest CCDS alums for all they did to accomplish their mission, and thanks everyone who made a donation and supported the fifth graders in any way as they worked towards this goal.
