This is National Teacher Appreciation Week and, under different circumstances, coordinated experiences are designed to celebrate our educators with staff luncheons, face-to-face interactions with parents and students, and artifacts of gratitude. As a result of mandated school closures, we find ourselves missing the very connections which brought us into the profession. These unprecedented times have also strengthened our admiration for educators and the influence schools play in the development of children.

I consider myself fortunate to work with teachers across our district who challenge and inspire our students to be their best, creative, and confident selves. Although we can never truly measure the profound impact educators have in our students’ lives, I am taking this opportunity to say thank you, for all that you do. The role of teacher is one to be proud of and cannot be overstated.

Community of Coronado, if inspired to do so, please take a moment this week to send a personal note recognizing the commitment, passion, and energy our teachers invest in our students.

With gratitude and appreciation.
