Opening three weeks ago, Wild Dove is the latest boutique in town, owned and styled by Rachel Webb. Located in a high profile location next to The Henry restaurant, Wild Dove is creating buzz for it’s creative window displays, modern outdoor walls, and the sophisticated clothing inside its doors.

When you look through the windows at Wild Dove, you quickly notice something different about their approach to grabbing your attention as you walk down Orange Avenue. Their window display gives you a kind of “Nordstrom” feel. “We wanted to fill a void for the everyday modern woman”, said Webb. “Our Coronado store is geared toward the over 30 woman seeking a sophisticated, yet casual and sleek look to their wardrobe. We feel like we truly compliment the other boutiques here in Coronado.”

This is not the only boutique experience for Webb. She opened the first Wild Dove location in San Diego on Market Street over four years ago. “Our downtown store is geared to a more trendy and younger crowd,” said Webb.

“My idea of opening a store in Coronado was to make it my ‘forever store.’ The design and aesthetics of the Coronado store are different than downtown on purpose,” Webb explained. “I planned the layout and choices of this store with the sophisticated and confident woman in mind”.

When you enter Wild Dove, you quickly get a sense of what Webb is talking about. The clothing in the store is simple and bold at the same time. The fabrics are effortless and charming. Each piece has a character all its own that quickly draws you toward it being a part of your closet. The staff at Wild Dove is experienced in helping the consumer put together outfits that are personal, too. “I chose my staff because of the way they interact with our customers”, said Webb. “They are able to coach them when it comes to colors, fabrics, personal style and choosing pieces that are long lasting.”

This has not been an easy year for anyone in the retail business let alone opening a new store in the middle of a pandemic. “I just decided to go for it”, said Webb. “The location was the perfect choice for us and there are future plans near and behind our store for a marketplace, music outings and more. Coronado is one of the most condensed shopping areas in the San Diego area and we wanted to be part of that destination… I love the community here and being a part of it is special.”

Wild Dove is certainly a one-stop shop for local and vacation shoppers in Coronado. “When you shop with us you will chose an outfit that will stand the test of time,” said Webb. “All of our fabrics are made in the U.S.A., are long lasting and at an affordable price point. I want the store to be an experience for our shoppers and provide an atmosphere where you want to come back and shop as styles change”.

Even though the target demographic at Coronado’s Wild Dove is a little older than its trendy downtown location, don’t let that stop you if you are in the under 30 group. There are endless styles and pieces filling the racks of Wild Dove that will make your friends ask where you shop!

Wild Dove Boutique is located at 1029 Orange Avenue; store hours are Sunday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Follow Wild Dove at @shopwilddove.
