Mark your calendar and get ready for a dose of healthy goodness at the John D. Spreckels Center’s Annual Health and Wellness Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Spreckels Center, along with several non-profit organizations, will offer free health screenings, provide resources, and share the latest research and information on ways to keep body, mind, and spirit in optimal condition. Numerous free health screenings will be provided including blood glucose screening, cholesterol screening, body composition screening, blood pressure screening, chair massage, ear acupressure, fall screening and nutritional guidance. Organizations hosting booths include: Alzheimer’s San Diego, ElderHelp, SD County HHSA/AIS, California Access Public Telephone, Skinny Gene Project, Braille Institute, Sharp Hospice Care, Southern Caregivers Resource Center, Sharp Coronado, Meals on Wheels and CalAm Water are just a few of the organizations participating. You will not want to miss this one-of-a-kind, community event to kick-start the fall season and your journey to improved health and well-being.
